Volunteers welcome for RFMI's spring workdays in Garden of the Gods

       The Rocky Mountain Field Institute (RMFI) has scheduled public workdays in April and May for volunteer improvement projects in the Garden of the Gods.
       RMFI is a nonprofit based on the Westside. Coordinating with local governments, RMFI has been organizing

       Advance registration is necessary by contacting Molly Mazel of RMFI at 471- 7736 or molly@rmfi.org.
       The public workdays, all on weekends, are scheduled April 7, 8, 14, 15, 22, 28 and 29; and May 6, 12, 13, 26 and 27; and June 17.
       All but April 22 (a “youth day” from 12:30 to 4 p.m.) will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
       Another RMFI workday is scheduled in Red Rock Canyon Open Space Saturday, May 19. The date is tied to the second annual Colorado Public Lands Day. The time frame will be 8 a.m. to noon.
       RMFI also hosts volunteer workdays with groups or schools that are not open to the public. Two of these this spring are with Howbert Elementary (March 22 and May 3) as part of an outdoor educational program the school started this year with the Westside-based Catamount Institute, in cooperation with RMFI.
