Pioneer ups circulation, news outlets
The Westside Pioneer announces an increase in printing and circulation. The free newspaper's weekly print run recently increased to 4,200 per issue - up
from the 4,000-per-issue total that was reached in September 2004.
In addition , the number of Pioneer outlets now exceeds 80 locations, including the four major Westside grocery stores and Wal-Mart. Nearly 250 readers have year-long subscriptions.
A family-owned newspaper that started in January 2004, the Pioneer covers local news in an area generally known as the Colorado Springs Westside. This area is bounded by Garden of the Gods Road on the north, I-25 on the east, the Cheyenne area on the south and Manitou Springs on the west.
