Update, March 28: Because of a snowy forecast for April 1 (the originally scheduled date, as stated in the article below), the April Stools cleanup has been moved to Saturday, April 8.

The dedication of a memorial pavilion honoring Ron Buchanan will be an added feature to this year's April Stools Day cleanup at the Bear Creek Dog Park Saturday, April 1 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The event is coordinated by the Friends of Bear Creek Dog Park, in conjunction with El Paso County Parks. Volunteers are welcome.
Buckets, bags and rubber gloves will be provided for the cleanup, but participants are asked to bring their own shovels or scoopers.
The memorial pavilion, funded by donations, consists of a shade structure with picnic tables. The dedication ceremony will be at 10 a.m. Buchanan, who died in May 2016, was the co-founder of the volunteer Friends group, leading major upgrades to the park between 2004 and 2015.
The free 25-acre area is west of 21st Street at the T-intersection with Rio Grande Street. For more information, call Dana Nordstrom at El Paso County Parks at 520- 6983.
