Literacy Center library tutoring to start April 2

       The Children's Literacy Center is seeking volunteers and students for one-to-one tutoring at the Old Colorado City Branch Library, 2418 W. Pikes Peak Ave.
       Aimed at helping children who are reading below their class level (grades 1 through 6), the program is scheduled from Thursday, April 2, through Thursday, May 14, occurring every Monday and Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
       Tutors must be at least 14 years old and trained in the Peak Reader curriculum. Each child enrolled in the program will work with his or her tutor for six weeks, according to Pamela Polke, program director.
       The Children's Literacy Center is a non-proft organization, founded and headquartered in Colorado Springs, now at 2928 Straus Lane, Suite 100.
