Spanish Colonial artists’ reception

       A reception for nine artists with works in the Spanish Colonial tradition will be Friday, March 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cucuru Gallery Café, 2332 W. Colorado Ave.
       The artists are Jose Esquibel, Carlos Fresquez, Lynn Fresquez, Stevon Lucero, Ron Miera, Judy Miranda, Tony Ortega, Rob Yancey and Jerry Vigil.

       Free hearing services
       Hearing Life, 1396 S. 21st St., will offer free services March 28-30, marking the visit of Rodger Hale, a national board-certified hearing instrument specialist.
       Available will be ear wax checks with a fiber optic video otoscope, a hearing assessment, demonstration of modern hearing solutions and maintenance on people's hearing aids.
       Advance appointments are necessary at 941-1120.
      
       Miniature art wanted
       The El Dorado Fine Arts Gallery, 2627 W Colorado Ave., is accepting entries for its 30th annual Juried Miniatures Art Show April 24 to May 15.
       The deadline is April 15.

       Yoga for children
       Yoga Monkey, a children's-oriented yoga program, will begin offering classes at the Gold Hill Mesa fitness center April 2.
       The classes are taught by Kristi McDonald, a former elementary school teacher who started the program in 2009, and yoga instructor Lauren Hebert.
       Previously, they had offered the classes in the area through School Districts 11 and 20.
       The classes are basically geared for ages 4 to 10. They will be offered Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. The fitness center is inside Gold Hill's Exchange Building community center at 142 S. Raven Mine Drive.
