Silver Key seeks help in feeding seniors

       As part of a national campaign this month against senior hunger titled “March for Meals,” Silver Key Senior Services, 2250 Bott Ave., is asking the public for donations of food, money or volunteer time.
       The Westside-based nonprofit offers food to needy elderly through Meals on Wheels, Pantry, and the Commodities Supplemental Food Program (CSFP).

       Learning about the land
       A Homesteading Fair is scheduled Saturday, March 17 at the Good Earth Garden Center, 1330 N. Walnut St.
       The free event will be from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
       Featured will be representatives from at least 10 local growers or small farm/ranch operations.
       Among the demonstrations/topics will be seed-starting; building raised plenting beds; making goat cheese and soaps, keeping chickens, bees and goats; and canning and fermenting.
