Recent grafitti problem citywide, police say

A recent increase in grafitti on the Westside is typical of what's been happening citywide, according to Gold Hill Division Sgt. Kerry Duran.
Other places that have been hit include Motor City, the downtown and Stratton Meadows.
Reasons for the upswing are not known. “It could be springtime, gangs staking out turf early; we don't know,” he said. “We have officers looking into it.”
Most of the “tagging” does not appear to have hidden violent messages, he added.
