Cougar boys basketball ousted in state quarters
One of the best basketball seasons in Coronado High basketball history came to an end March 4 in the state playoff
quarterfinals when the Cougars lost to undefeated, number- one state-ranked Denver East, 83-48.
Led by first-year Coach Dan Hugill, Coronado won the Metro League for the first time in 20 years and reached the quarterfinals (final eight schools in the state playoffs) for only the third time in school history. The team's final record was 18-4 (11-1 in league play).
