Simpich to perform 'Firebird' March 21-May 18 The Simpich Showcase Marionette Theatre, 2413 W. Colorado Ave., will begin live performances of “The Firebird” Friday, March 21. Shows will continue through May 18.Puppeteer David Simpich wrote the story based on more than seven versions of an ancient fairytale from Russian folklore. He also designed and built the stringed puppets and manipulates them as “characters” in the presentation, in which he is the sole performer. Shows are Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
