Donations sought for city pools
The Friends of Aquatics, a 501C non-profit organization in support of our community pools, is raising $250,000 to help preserve pool and fitness center operations. With your tax-deductible donation, you will be helping thousands of youth, teens, adults, seniors, and individuals with disabilities increase their water safety, improve self confidence and ultimately maintain healthy lifestyles. Proceeds will help keep facilities run by the City of Colorado Springs open and able to offer affordable opportunities for all members of our community. City pools helped more than 6,500 participants learn to swim in 2009, but without help these facilities and programs will be lost due to the current budget shortfall.
Opportunities to help include fundraising events, paver and banner purchases, sponsorships and tax-deductible donations.
Please contact Friends of Aquatics no later than Monday, March 8 using the following contact information: 385-6032 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
