First ‘Family Fusion’ function finds fun

The initial Fourth Saturday Family Fusion at the Westside Community Center drew a small but entertained crowd Feb. 26.

“We were really pleased with it,” said center director Dick Siever. “We got feedback that people had a good time in a fun atmosphere.”
Although he might have wished for a bigger crowd than the 30-some people who came for free lunch and family-oriented games during the three-hour event, he added, “It's like anything else, it was the first time. We hope the ones who came will share with others. We have enough capacity to do it with more folks.”
Fourth Saturday - similar in structure and offerings to the Second Saturday Sensations for middle and high schoolers - is scheduled monthly through May.
The next Second Saturday will be March 12 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the center.
