What do you do?
Linda Orist

Where do you work and what is your title?
I am the co-owner of the Pineapple Daisy.
What do you do there and/or what are you responsible for?
I do it all! Design, bake, network and answer the phone! Iím the chief cook and bottle washer.
How long have you been doing this kind of work (total)? How long on the Westside?
It started out as a cottage business in my home about five years ago. We moved to the Westside in 2005.
What do you like best about it (other than quitting time)?
If I could change one thing, it would be cloning myself! There are always so many things I want to do to grow the business, but just not enough me to go around!
If you could change one thing (other than pay), what would it be?
To be able to educate people about the benefits of feeding their animals natural and quality feed. One of our goals is to have educational seminars on Saturdays (when the weather warms up!).
What part of your work did your training/education never prepare you for?
Bookkeeping! Iím always buried in a mountain of papers when my passion is to be creating and enjoying the company of my customers.
What makes working on the Westside special?
The great people on the Westside are very loyal. Many have become great friends and come by regularly just to say hi. I grew up here in Colorado Springs and I know just how special the people are and itís a community that cares about one another.

ďWhat do you do?Ē is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you know someone who has an interesting job on the Westside (but doesnít live here), he/she might be a candidate for this column! If you know someone who might qualify, give us a call at 471-6776.
