Clark appointed by CCI to state welfare panel
El Paso County Commissioner Sallie Clark has been appointed by Colorado Counties, Incorporated (CCI) to serve on the state of Colorado's Child Welfare
Allocations Committee (CWAC).
Clark, also a Westside businesswoman and long-time civic leader, is a commissioner liaison to the Department of Human Services.
The purpose of the CWAC is to allocate state and federal funds from the Child Welfare Block Grant to Colorado's 64 counties. Funding is used to support out-of- home placement and associated Medicaid costs, subsidized adoptions, adoption case services, child welfare-related child care, county case management and administration, and burials.
"Protecting our children is extremely important, and we need to secure funds for our Department of Human Services to continue programs for our most vulnerable citizens," Clark said.
