Westside groups invited to enter St. Pat’s Parade
Here's your chance to be in a parade.
John and Carol O'Donnell, the originators and promoters of the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Old Colorado City, are accepting additional participants for the 23rd Annual event, scheduled Saturday, March 11.
The deadline is Feb. 24.
According to John O'Donnell, whose office is in Old Colorado City, he'd especially like to see more Westside participation. “The more Westside groups the better,” he said.
Last year, the parade had some Westside groups, including the Old Colorado City Lions, Mill Hill Saloon and the West Middle School band. The cost per entry for businesses is $250. For nonprofits, including schools, the cost is $60. The money helps cover the costs of putting on the event, according to Carol O'Donnell.
Traveling along West Colorado Avenue between 27th and 17th streets, the parade typically has close to 100 entries and lasts about two hours.
For more information, the O'Donnell office number is 635-8803.
