OWN board keeping same officers for ‘07
If you liked the Organization of Westside Neighbors (OWN) board's officers through the latter part of 2006, then you've got no worries in 2007. It's the same
By consensus at the board meeting Jan 25, the eight members present approved Welling Clark, president; Amy Filipiak, vice-president; Dick Strauch, secretary; and Dave Hughes, treasurer. Jim Fenimore was absent.
Clark did ask for help in handling some of his tasks. Noting increased demands at his job, he told the board, “I can't do what I did last year.”
Board members volunteered to help in the following areas: the quarterly newsletter (Sean Chambers and Dave Hughes), meeting organization (Stormie Wells) and development reviews (Dick Strauch). Clark will continue working on the Westside Highway 24 issue, he said.
An OWN volunteer (Bunny Blaha) offered to help with the newsletter and the annual Spirit Awards.
The board also agreed to a plan in which the bimonthly membership meetings will be held at the Gold Hill Police Substation. The next of these will be March 8. The monthly board meetings will tentatively remain at the West Intergenerational Center while board members research if OWN can cut its costs by moving to Gold Hill.
