Meet a Westsider:
Rich Tullis

Profession/Occupation... Owner of Westside Custom Cycles.

What I like most about the Westside is... the neighborhoods are quiet, people are friendly (most of them), not as much traffic and close to the mountains. Most of the people I know are people I went to school with. I went to Zebulon Pike, Holmes and I was in the first graduating class from Coronado that did all three years!

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... to put a lumberyard on the Westside. We have just about everything else we need here.

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... I don’t watch movies very much, but the most recent was “Braveheart,” and my favorite movies are “Easy Rider” and “True Grit.”

The worst advice I’ve ever gotten was... “Don’t ride motorcycles, they’re too dangerous.”

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... John Wayne; he’s just old style.

The next time I travel, I’m going to... Sturgis with my wife. It’s in South Dakota, and has the biggest bike rally in the U.S.

My favorite childhood memory is... going to the El Paso County Fair with my family and getting paid $1 to ride a steer. We could only ride the steers once a day. That and chasing the greased pigs.

My favorite winter pastime is... building and custom painting motorcycles.

Something good I’ve read is.. motorcycle magazines.

My pet peeve is... people not doing what they say they’re going to do. I like honesty.

If I won the lottery, I’d... fill up my shop with more parts, hire my daughter to run the business and build custom motorcycles full-time.
