Westside qualifies under RTA sidewalk geography in 2012

The Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (RTA) has publicized the fact that people can put their sidewalks on a list for repair, with the segments in the worst condition taking the highest priority.
However, a recent call to City Streets clarified why some Priority 1 sidewalks have still not been fixed as the sales-tax-supported RTA enters its fifth year of existence.
According to a City Streets spokesperson, the city (using RTA funding) is tackling the problem sidewalks, but in geographical groupings. This is for efficiency reaons. Each year takes in different areas of town. However, the Westside is not scheduled for this sort of attention until the year 2012.
